Worn when I hanged out at the mall with hubby :) P.S. Pardon the messy 'do. Hubby was too busy snapping photos away to took notice. As with any other girls, I'm pretty excited to share with you some trinkets I've got for me-self :)
It seemed that cravings for saccharine typically associated with girls is quite the opposite for hubby and I.
I don't really like sodas, chocolates, doughnuts.. basically anything sweet with the exception though to ice cream. But I'm still quite choosy with ice cream flavors. Anyway, Myke on the other hand likes chocolates, sodas, cakes, doughtnuts. (Ugh. Thinking of them makes my teeth ache already.) And confronting him and basically banning him access to the sweets at our pantry usually turns into a debate - with him ending up with the silly grin on his face while wiping chocolate smudges off his chin and me in the sofa seething. Nakakainis makipagtalo sa matigas ang ulo. I know my MIL (mother-in-law) had been keeping watch of Myke's eating habits. And she always reminds me to be conscious of what I put on the dining table cos Myke sometimes would just be a total binger. She wanted me to prepare more healthy food choices and so, she asked me to come with her to a seminar last Sunday to be more educated on the subject of healthy eating. The seminar was entitled "Prevention and Reversal of Heart Disease" that was spearheaded by the NeedHealth Ministries. The seminar wasn't too much of a bore. There were lectures on healthy eating choices - benefits of drinking water, eating less animal-sourced products and there was also cooking demo on how to prepare vegetarian dishes. For a fee, you could also enjoy a vegetarian buffet lunch which was composed of red rice, black beans, kidney beans, camote tops and vegetarian tocino. There was also boiled bananas, some green mangoes and singkamas with vegetarian bagoong. I love dresses. It very easy kasi - saves me time (and less stress) thinking about which tops go best with what bottoms. With a dress, all you have to think about is your accessory (and shoes, of course) and you're ready to go. For my next entry of Style Diary, I've collected some of my dress ensembles. I've donned these on different occassions (from L-R): friend's wedding at Calaruega, company event and our engagement session (aka prenuptial pictorial). What are your favorite dresses? :) Bright yellow ruffled blouse + black gartered belt + blue tulip skirt + nude bejeweled flats I wore this outfit when we shot our company's Customer Care AVP. And a lot of the feedback I got was that I looked cute like Snow White(?!). It's probably because of the color combination and the tulip skirt reminded some of a ball gown. So, I'm calling this my "Snow White ensemble". Ha ha ha! The bold colors will definitely make you stand out. During the shoot, N from the ad agency took notice of my skirt and she said she bought a dress that had the same skirt. That's how we found out that we bought our items from the same brand / designer. Hi hi hi! Talk about same tastes :) I got a nice surprise this morning when I checked my blog stats. Aside from checking the number of site visits I had, I also make sure to check which sites had the most referrals to mine. I noticed that apart from the usuals, I have a few of referrals from Sheng's site. I knew instantly that she had probably uploaded the feature that we were discussing last month. I saw Sheng's post at Girltalk (Wedding and Engagements thread) asking for contributions for DIY projects. I immediately submitted my DIY lace gloves for consideration. She liked the idea and so we exchanged a few private messages. And now the article's up in her site! That's I what call blog love :) Go read more about the feature and also check out Sheng's take on life's Sweet Simple Joys :) Thanks, Sheng! xoxo I was still unsure if I should start a new category for this. I am sure though that my fashion sense isn't always on the mark. But hey, dressing should always be fun (and yes, sometimes frustrating). So, I'm starting a new series of blog entries called Style Diaries. I'll post some of my get-ups for whatever occassion (should there always be reason? Hi hi hi.) and inspiration I had. I might also post some of my accessories and fab finds. If you think I look fab or drab, I'm open for suggestions and (constructive) criticisms. Just go easy on me, ok? :) I want to start this series so we could all learn from each other so don't hesitate to give tips and fashion advise :) By the way, I don't really put much effort in making myself up so bear with me if my face / hair need a fixing up and just focus on the outfits instead. He he he. First up, rust colored mini dress and bejeweled flats. May also be layered with cardigan and leggings as what I did last February 4. What do you think? :) It's hard to escape temptation when the mall is just a few minutes walk from your office. During lunch hours, I and my colleagues would sometimes dine out and after eating, we'd run errands or just simply window shop. The problem with window shopping is sometimes "Oh, I'm just looking around." would eventually end up in me taking out my card and next thing I knew I'm carrying a shopping bag =P But for 2011, I've promised myself to ease out on shopping especially on clothes, shoes etc. and just limit it to only buying what I need.
Just a while ago, I went out with H since she was shopping for some work shoes. I followed her around stores and found out that Mango, Zara and other shops at Glorietta are having some sale. Thankfully, I had successfully resisted temptation and just contented myself with looking around and trying on some shoes. I'm patting myself in the back right now but I thought of sharing here some items that I saw from Zara and Mango that I would have bought for myself :P Nowadays, a lot of people have become figure-conscious. I and a few of my colleagues are no exception. With the gastronomic feast we've had over the past Holidays, it's no wonder that our bodies might be showing bulges that are better off to be on some livestock or somebody else who is "pilit na nagpapataba pero walang effect". Hmp! <-- Bitter? :P Rather than complain, my colleagues had the idea of holding their own "The Biggest Loser" edition to finally work on the unwanted fats. To sweeten the (or)deal, participants decided to chip in a certain amount of money and the accumulated cash will be the prize for the winner. The challenge? Be the one who will lose weight the most in a span of 5 months. Now to make sure no one slacks around, the loser (the one who had the least weight lost) will take the 2nd and 3rd placers on a treat. Sana lang e wag pakainin sa Eat-All-You-Can resto. Sayang lang ang trinabaho ng limang buwan. Hi hi hi! Official weigh in was last January 12. The four 'contenders' had agreed to have their "Before" pictures taken so we could see their progress(?). For kahihiyaan reasons, I have purposely hidden their faces (ha ha ha! Peace, guys!). So who will be the winner? We'll find out and I'm gonna post updates on this, you betcha ;-) P.S. Anyone who wanna place bets with me, you may send me a private message. Ha ha ha! *Note: Author with consent from the four participants to post their mug shots.. err.. photos. |
